Tauhric Brown, President and CEO of CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions, joined 13INside Track and talked about how CICOA helps out the senior population in our community. “90 percent of older adults, surveyed, say that they would like to live their remaining years at home,” he states.”Often that isn’t possible; some of them may not have enough money to carry them through, some of them are in poor health and some may not have family or support nearby.”

CICOA is a non-profit organization in Central Indiana that empowers older adults and, those at any age with a disability, to live comfortably and safely in their home vs. institutional care. Their Aging Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is the front door to CICOA’s services.

CICOA’s “Meals & More” program is the largest Senior Nutrition program in the state of Indiana. CICOA delivers nutritionally balanced fresh frozen entrees to seniors every two weeks so they can cook their meals at home. CICOA also has programs that provide transportation, caregiver support, counselling, and Medicaid services to our aging population.

If you know someone who needs CICOA’s assistance, you can call our ADRC at 317-803-6131 or you may submit a referral online. Or if you can give help feed hungry seniors, visit CICOA.org/meals-for-seniors.
