INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Metro police believe it was speed, not heavy fog that likely caused a deadly crash Sunday morning.

It happened near East 35th Street and Mitthoefer Road on the city's northeast side.

Officers say a car lost control, drove into a ditch and hit a utility pole.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
