ELKHART, Ind. (WTHR) - A Florida woman found murdered before police found the bodies of her four children grew up in northern Indiana.

Police found the body of 32-year-old Casei Jones in a car in Georgia Monday after her husband was involved in a crash. Police say Michael Jones, 38, later led police to the bodies of the woman's four children, ranging in age from one to 10.

According to our partners at the Elkhart Truth, Casei Jones graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 2005. Her mother, Nikki Jones, told the newspaper their family lived in Goshen and Elkhart for 37 years before she moved to Florida about 10 years ago. She lived near her daughter, who she called a loving and caring person.

"She would give you the shirt off her back," she said. "She had the most beautiful smile. I'm just shattered. People don't know how heartbroken I am."

Nikki Jones believes Michael Jones used her daughter's phone after he killed her to make it appear everything was OK. She said she would regularly video chat with her daughter and grandchildren, but she would receive text messages that suggested Casei was sick and couldn't do a video chat.

That's when she said she became suspicious and called police.

Michael Jones has been charged with second degree murder in Florida. Police have not positively identified the bodies of the children, but believe them to be the children that had been reported missing.
