Wednesday is a day of change. A cold front looms off to our west, and once it gets closer, not only will temperatures jump into the 70s, but we'll see our chances for rain increase, especially late today and into tonight.

We're looking at a big time Autumn push of cooler air Thursday. Winds shift to the north and our highs Thursday, Friday and Saturday won't get out of the 50s. Look for a chance for rain Thursday and possibly Saturday. That means crowds in Brown County and Parke County will experience true Autumn weather as they look at covered bridges and the leaves changing color.

Next week shows another temperature jump with highs approaching 70 by Tuesday.

Today in central Indiana weather history - 1989:
A record October snowfall occurs for the north and central parts of the state, as up to 10.5 inches falls in Kokomo. 9.3 inches falls in Indianapolis.
