Sheriff's deputy and loyal K-9 retire together

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — When you come to the end of your career, it would be nice to retire with a friend.

That's exactly what happened today for Sergeant Kris Weisner, a Bartholomew County sheriff's deputy.

After all his years of service, he got to retire with a great and loyal partner - his K9, Bolt.

Sgt. Weisner joined the office 36 years ago, first working in the jail.

The department hopes to have a new K9 by spring or early summer.

Congratulations Sgt. Weisner and K9 Bolt on retirement!
