WASHINGTON (WTHR) — Your favorite Sesame Street friends will soon be available to help you mail letters.

The U.S. Postal Service is honoring the show's 50th anniversary with a series of Forever stamps featuring 16 of the most popular characters. Classic characters such as Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie and Cookie Monster are among those smiling for the new stamps.

The postal service also unveiled new stamp designs of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and "Spooky Silhouettes," which are perfect for mailing Halloween cards.

The new stamp sets will be available some time during 2019, but exact dates will be released later.

Forever stamps currently cost 55 cents.
