Samaritan's Feet delivers hundreds of new shoes to kids

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Hundreds of kids are going home from school with a new pair of shoes.

As part of its National Day of Service campaign, Samaritan's Feet topped by Arlington Woods Elementary Thursday.

Principal Tihesha Henderson says it's important to instill a message of hope. "Our students come to school with so much baggage and we're trying to empower them and encourage them to have hope for the future. To know that better days are coming soon. To know that they can be whatever they want to be in life as long as they work hard at it."

Samaritan's Feet will be handing out shoes to kids at Holy Cross Elementary next week.
