Runners participate in Geist Half Marathon in honor of Tyler Trent

FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) – There was a very special moment during this morning's Geist half marathon in Fishers.

Two runners dedicated their race to Tyler Trent's memory.

They are with Flags 4 the Fallen.

Richard Clark carried an American flag while Jenn Conner carried the Purdue flag.

After the race, both were presented to Tyler's parents.

When Conner met Tyler's parents, they realized she lives within a half mile of them.

Tyler inspired thousands with his compassion and bravery during his battle with bone cancer.

Tyler passed away on New Years day.

A research fund in his name has raised thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer research.
