Road worker struck and killed in northeast Indiana

SYRACUSE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say a worker was fatally struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at a northern Indiana construction site.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office says the construction flagger was hit Friday afternoon at the site on Indiana 13 just south of Syracuse. The worker killed was identified as Ben Fisher of Plymouth.

Investigators say the construction crew had finished for the day and was picking up materials when Fisher was hit about 30 miles southeast of South Bend.
