INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — An Eaton reserve officer is being charged with impersonating another reserve officer on Tinder.

Kyler Welsh is accused of Synthetic Identity Deception.

Indiana State Police investigators said Welsh was impersonating and using photos of Markleville reserve officer Nathan Brooks.

A friend of Brooks notified him after she was matched with the fake account on Tinder.

Police were able to use the phone number used to communicate with her to determine Welsh was behind the Tinder account.

Synthetic Identity Deception is a felony and Welsh will be back in court in November.
