MADISON, Ind. (WTHR) - An Indiana sailor killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor will finally be laid to rest this weekend.

Navy Fireman 3rd Class Willard Irvin Lawson will be buried Saturday at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.

Lawson's remains were among those exhumed in the summer of 2015, along with others who served on the USS Oklahoma. In the months following the December 7, 1941 attack, the remains of 429 Armed Forces personnel killed on the USS Oklahoma were buried in several cemeteries in Hawaii.

The remains of 200 of those crewmen have been identified since exhumations began four years ago.

Saturday's ceremony for Lawson will be open to the public, starting at 1 p.m.
