Free rides on Red Line are over

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – Passengers now have to pay to ride the Red Line.

Sunday was the first day IndyGo started charging Red Line riders after the free fare was extended through November.

Now that rides are no longer free, some people are already reporting issues with the new ticket machines.

An IndyGo spokesperson tells Eyewitness News that they have experienced paper jams and machines not taking coins.

They say crews are trying to fix the problems.
