"Recently retired" 20-year-old comes forward as $450M Mega Millions winner

PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WTHR) - The winner of last week's huge Mega Millions jackpot has come forward - and he's barely out of his teens!

Twenty-year-old Shane Missler of Port Richey, Florida had the only ticket in the country matched the winning numbers in the $450 million January 5 drawing.

Minutes after the drawing, he posted "Oh. My. God." on his Facebook page.

He chose the lump sum payment option, so he'll collect nearly $282 million before taxes.

Missler hasn't spoken publicly, but did release a statement through his attorneys saying he had a feeling he might win. He also said he hopes to use the money to "pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity."

The 20-year-old's lawyers say he is "recently retired" and plans to learn more about taking care of his finances.

The 7-Eleven that sold Missler the winning ticket will collect a $100,000 bonus.
