INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The ratings for the 103rd Running of the Indianapolis 500 reversed a downward trend as the race drove from ABC over to NBC.

Nationally, overnight measurements show a 3.86 rating averaged over the course of the entire race. That means 3.86 percent of all American households were watching, which is a 15 percent increase over last year's race and the best since the 100th Running.

Viewership peaked at a 4.56 rating in the final 15 minutes as Simon Pagenaud fought it out with Alexander Rossi for the checkered flag.

These ratings don't include digital viewership. Final numbers, including digital, are expected later today.
