Rain likely for rest of the week, mostly dry this weekend

(WTHR) — Wet overnight, especially south of Indy where Seymour picked up nearly three quarters of an inch of rain in just a few short hours.

Much of the ground is saturated and even though rain is on tap today, most of our 7 day outlook will remain hot and humid.

Scattered storms and highs in the middle 80s are in the forecast. It will still be warm and muggy but mainly dry by the time tomorrow rolls along.

We will finally be rid of this weather system on Thursday. Expect temporary relief from the high humidity and storm chances by then. Afternoon temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s. There's also a marginal risk for severe weather today in most of Indiana.

A chance for a few storms is expected on Friday, as a warm front lifts north over central Indiana. We are tracking some heat on the south side of that warm front for the upcoming weekend. High temperatures this weekend will be near 90 degrees. Right now, the weekend will be mainly dry and hot, with just the chance for a pop-up storm.
