SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WTHR) - The new season of IndyCar excitement starts on Sunday, with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Fans will be gathering at the 1911 Grill in Speedway to watch the race and help a good cause.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Red Cross is hosting a blood drive there. If you donate, you also get a $10 off coupon that you can use at SI Karting.

The 1911 Grill will feature food and drink specials during the race as well.

The Red Cross needs to collect at least 450 units of blood daily to keep up with hospital demands and winter is tough time for donations

Last year, they helped collected 116 pints of blood through INDYCAR events in connection with driver James Hinchcliffe.

There are a few other blood drives set for the season, including one the week before the 103rd Running of the Indianapolis 500 and events across the country for the Iowa and Mid-Ohio races.
