Purdue hoops star spends free time walking abandoned shelter dogs
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) — You probably assume that a student-athlete spends his or her free time studying or hanging out with friends.
But Purdue student Matt Haarms goes beyond that.
Haarms, who plays on Purdue's basketball team, spends his free time volunteering at Natalie's Second Chance Dog Shelter, where he walks and interacts with abandoned dogs.
Purdue Basketball tweeted out a video of Haarms visiting the shelter.
🐶 For the last couple of months on off days, @MattyHaarms has volunteered at Natalie's Second-Chance Dog Shelter, walking and interacting with abandoned dogs.
