WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) – Purdue divers David Boudia, Steele Johnson, Ben Bramley, and Brandon Loschiavo are getting ready to go to Gwangju, South Korea for the world championships.

This competition is the first time the divers can qualify for spots for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Johnson, a 2016 Olympian from Carmel, says, “The boys are going to Korea and we're excited to have a couple of high divers from Purdue as well, so we're going to have six Purdue guys on diving, so this is going to be a trip for sure.”

The team leaves Monday, July 1, for the competition that will start July 12.

Boudia says, “We'll kick off the diving with syncro on July 15, Steele and I, so that will be a lot of fun.”

Noblesville's Boudia, who will be looking to make his fourth Olympic team, will compete on the three meter and Loschiavo in platform.

“The Boiler boys will be diving for Team USA," Loschiavo says, "but the entire time we will definitely be saying “Hail Purdue.”
