INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – A bill introduced by a State Senator from Indianapolis proposes to raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2021.

Senate Bill 121 proposes the minimum wage paid to some Hoosiers increase to $10 an hour in 2019, then to $13 an hour in 2020, and $15 an hour in 2021.

Starting in 2022, the bill calls for the hourly minimum wage to increase at the same percentage as any increase in the Consumer Price Index for the preceding calendar year.

Introduced by Senator Frank Mrvan on January 3, the bill was sent to the Pensions and Labor Committee and has not moved since.
