Power companies suspending disconnections for non-payments

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indiana Michigan Power is suspending disconnections for non-payment to help customers dealing with COVID-19 concerns.

The company said the move is to ensure families will have electric service so they can focus on staying healthy.

  • Michigan customers: 1-800-311-6424

It is not yet clear how long the temporary suspension of disconnections will last.

Duke Energy

Duke Energy Indiana is also not disconnecting service during this time.

Duke said it is an essential service for you to have at this time and it is also aware some families might be facing unusual financial hardships.
