INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - It's still the Best Chocolate in Town, you just can't get in the Massachusetts Ave. store where it was made and sold for 13 years.

Owner Elizabeth Garber closed the store Sunday after passing the "chocolate torch" to Newfangled Confections, which makes Frittle (a brittle made with fudge) and is owned by Carrie Abbott. It turns out, Abbott was an intern of Garber's, someone with whom she trusted sharing her secret chocolate and truffle recipes.

Garber said she's not sure what's next, she was just ready to "try other things." For now, she will help with the transition. She also assured her loyal customers that Best Chocolate in Town candy will still be available at a growing number of retailers.

In a note posted on the store window, she wrote, "New beginnings are always bittersweet. I am profoundly grateful for all your support... I hope I helped make your lives a little sweeter. You certainly did as much for me."
