Police: Woman shot in back on I-65


CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) - State police are investigating after a woman says she was shot on Interstate 65 early Friday morning in Clinton County.

Police say the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. north of the 158 mile marker exit when a black Impala fired shots at the black Honda Civic in which the woman was riding.

The woman's boyfriend drove her to a hospital in Frankfort where she was later transferred to an Indianapolis hospital.

Police say the woman is in stable condition with a gun shot wound to the back.

Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is asked to call the Indiana State Police at 765-567-2125 and ask for Trooper Detective Josh Edwards or First Sergeant Jerry Holeman.
