INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Several businesses along Massachusetts Avenue have experienced incidents that have people wondering.

Is it the weather? Or just mischief?

The last few weeks have been a little precarious on Massachusetts Avenue. Recently, someone broke into Natural Born Juicers overnight.

"They got away with iPads, no cash or anything, so it's kind of cold. Seems like maybe somebody homeless, sick of being cold," said Moe, who works behind the counter at the store.

Down the street, the fur was flying at a pet spa overnight, as well.

"We had glass everywhere, which they got cleaned up, which was the worst part with having dogs in and out every day," said Catlynn Cunningham, manager of Furr.

Cunningham held an 8-10 pound rock in her hand.

But someone was a little more daring in the daylight. In fact, they took the "M" out of Moxie, a salon three blocks away.

"We heard this loud popping noise and Michael screamed for all of us to get down, literally. I pushed my client out of the way and we all went down to the ground. It sounded like a loud gunshot," owner Tracy Brown remembered.

Fortunately, it was not. More like a pellet gun, according to police, but all this crime has people talking.

"I think a lot of these people are mentally ill, I do. They talk to themselves, they walk in here and they are belligerent. There are a handful of them who walk in here just to stay warm, because they have nowhere else to go," Brown continued.

None of these incidents were life-threatening and no one wants to leave Mass Ave. They just want this incidents to stop.

If you have any information on the vandalism on Mass Ave., you can report it anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
