Police searching for man stealing at local churches


LAWRENCE, Ind. (WTHR) — Here's something that's going to get you in trouble both here and in the after-life.

Police in Lawrence are looking for a man who has been going into churches and stealing money and items from people at the church.

In one instance, he was seen taking a church deposit bag.

He's suspected in thefts that started December 22, right before Christmas.

In that case he hit Cornerstone Baptist Church taking an employee’s purse and its contents, including cash.

He also stole from Lawrence United Methodist Church where he took the church deposit bag containing cash and checks.

The suspect in both incidents is described as a tall, mid-late 20’s year old male with brown hair, unshaven facial stubble, wearing a baseball-style cap, driving an older, dark Lincoln sedan.
