Police say contractor didn't complete work after receiving homeowner's payment

LEBANON, Ind. (WTHR) - A Boone County contractor is facing charges for allegedly taking money from people but never doing the work. he was hired to do.

Our partners at The Lebanon Reporter say Randall Blake Copeland was arrested for theft and home improvement fraud.

One victim says she paid Copeland $9,000 for a new roof, but he never showed up to do the work.

When she asked for a refund, she was told to talk to his attorney.

Copeland claims he wasn't "trying to steal from anybody."

His trial has been set for February.
