CLOVIS, N.M. (WTHR) – Burger King employees are out of a job after playing a rude joke on an officer.

Timo Rosenthal, a police officer in New Mexico, posted a picture of a Burger King wrapper that he claims to have received from a restaurant in Clovis.

A cartoon pig was drawn on the wrapper with the caption, “When you order food in uniform.”

Rosenthal says not only was there a pig doodle on his wrapper, but his was also "burnt and the burger was of very poor quality."

Burger King told KRQE News 13 that five employees who were involved in the incident have since been fired.

The statement from Burger King continued on to say, "The restaurant is offering free meals to uniformed officers and will provide a catered lunch to the police department as a gesture of goodwill.”
