Police: Man crashes stolen city work truck before forcing his way into woman's home

LEBANON, Ind. (WTHR) - Lebanon Police arrested a man Monday morning after they say he stole and crashed a city parks department truck.

Around 11 a.m., parks department employees flagged down a Lebanon police officer to report their truck had been stolen.

At 11:06 a.m., the Boone County Communications Center began receiving calls of a motor vehicle collision in the 1900 Block of Elizaville Road.

Callers reported the truck struck a house and tree.

Witnesses told police the driver ran from the truck.

At 11:09 a.m., the Boone County 911 Center received a call from a homeowner in the 200 Block of East Drive reporting that a man had forced his way into the home and was currently inside.

Officers with the Lebanon Police Department and Boone County Sheriff’s Office took the suspect, 37-year-old Clifton J. Martin into custody inside the house without incident.
