Police identify 2 people killed in Fishers crash

FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) — The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office reports two people are dead after an overnight crash in Fishers.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on East 121st Street between Cumberland and Hoosier roads.

The sheriff's office said two people were trapped inside a car after it crashed into a tree. Investigators are working to figure out what led up to the crash.

Police say the driver of the SUV, Davneet S. Chahal, age 22 of Fishers, was ejected during the crash and died at the scene.

Police say it is believed he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A front seat passenger, Varundeep S. Bring, age 19 of Fishers, was also killed during the crash.

A backseat passenger, Gurjot S. Sandhu, age 20 of Fishers, was found outside the SUV.

Medics transported Sandhu to St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street.
