Police arrest woman for DUI, urinating at a stop light

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - A Merrillville woman faces drunk driving and indecent exposure charges after a state trooper saw her urinating outside of her car at a stop light Saturday morning.

The trooper was on patrol in Merrillville at 1:15 a.m. when he saw a white Nissan stopped at the intersection of 61st Street and Broadway.

The trooper reported the driver's door was open and a woman was squatting outside the driver's door and urinating.

When she saw the trooper approach, she got back into the driver's seat and drove south on Broadway before stopping.

The driver, identified as Tysheena S. Billingsley, 33, of Merrillville, showed signs of impairment and tests revealed that her blood alcohol content to .18-percent, which is more than twice the legal limit for intoxication in Indiana.

Billingsley was taken to the Lake County Jail.
