FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) - With most schools back in session, school bus safety is front-of-mind for many area law enforcement agencies.

Fishers police shared a video on Facebook, recorded by a parent at her child's school bus stop. It shows a motorist blowing right past a bus as the student got on.

It's not the first violation the parent has documented. She gave police photos of other drivers she caught breaking the law.

In a recent dedicated patrol, Fishers PD says their officers wrote 20 citations and made 3 arrests for school zone violations.

If you see a bus violation, police have some suggestions on how you can help them.

Take note of the car's make, model, color and plate number. They also ask that you provide the description of the driver, if possible, because that could permit the local agency to cite the driver later.

A lot of departments are increasing patrols and dedicating extra resources to track down drivers who don't follow the rules.
