Plainfield police looking for jewelry thief who stole $9,000 worth of merchandise

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) — The Plainfield Police Department needs the public's help identifying a man accused of stealing two rings from a display case in a jewelry store.

Police say the man stole the rings from Mason Jewelry on Main Street just after 3 p.m. Saturday. The rings are valued at about $9,000 total.

Surveillance video from the store shows a black male wearing jeans and a flannel plaid shirt with a black beanie. The store said the suspect took the rings while employees were pre-occupied.

Video shows the suspect leave the store to meet a second person. They both left the area, but it's not clear what direction they went.
