Pioneer caps off perfect season with Class A title

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Pioneer finished off a perfect season with the Class A state football championship at Lucas Oil Stadium Friday.

Eastern Greene took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Panthers scored the next 35 points to put the game away. Quarterback Jack Kiser ran for 207 yards and three touchdowns, including a 33-yard score to cap off Pioneer's 35-point run. He also completed all six passes he threw for 111 yards and two more scores.

Danny Gregorich scored on a 30-yard run to ice the win for the Panthers.

Eastern Greene quarterback Caleb Hamilton had a pair of scoring runs for the Thunderbirds in the 42-14 loss.

Pioneer's Garrett Schroder was named the Blake Ress Mental Attitude Winner.
