The Zika virus can cause a rash and bloodshot eyes.

Doctors in New York have released photos from one infected patient so people know what to look for if Zika starts spreading in the U.S.

The photos are of a 44-year-old New York man who vacationed in Puerto Rico.

Within a few days of coming home, he started feeling tired and developed a headache. His eyes became blood shot, and a red rash appeared across his body.

He also had joint pain.

Mosquitoes are the main way for Zika to spread, and most people only have mild symptoms.

The main concern with Zika is with pregnant women. The virus is known to cause birth defects.
