WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WTHR) — Two barrel houses went up in flames at a Jim Beam aging facility in central Kentucky late Tuesday.

LEX18 reports the fire broke out around 11:30 p.m., starting in a rickhouse where bourbon is stored while it ages. It eventually spread to a second building.

Crews said the fire may have been sparked by a lightning strike, but investigations continue. Firefighters said the initial fire had been extinguished, then reignited. The nature of the structures — lots of alcohol and wood around — posed a difficult task for firefighters.

Additional fire crews are on the scene to help contain the flames and prevent another fire.

No injuries have been reported.
