INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A Pendleton man has been convicted of murdering a man during a transaction in Lawrence last spring.

Richard Chambers was convicted Thursday in the murder of Brad McKinney of Mooresville last March 30. McKinney was trying to sell a drone with a Lawrence homeowner when Chambers, an acquaintance of the homeowner, walked up and pulled a gun.

McKinney was shot in the head and died at a hospital.

A Lawrence police officer who heard the shots responded to the scene and saw Chambers jogging away. Neighbors helped officers locate and apprehend the suspect a few blocks away.

Chambers will be sentenced next month.
