LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Las Vegas Highway Patrol Officer was inches from being hit when a hit-and-run driver took off his door.

Body and dash cameras show the moments the driver of an orange sedan sideswiped the cruiser.

It was right after the officer opened his door, which was left folded back against his fender.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

As for that hit-and-run driver, a tip led police right to them.

The suspect has been charged with driving without a valid license, hit-and-run property damage and failure to stop and render aid.
