INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A busy stretch of College Avenue on the north side has been without working street lights since March due to construction of the Red Line.

People who live along College between 38th and 42nd streets have let the city, IPL and the neighborhood association know they're tired of being in the dark.

They got a few steps closer to seeing more light on Thursday.

The Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association along with help from a handful of public safety officers, went door-to-door delivering 500 yard lights. They are a temporary measure to at least make the sidewalks along College Avenue safer.
