An Indian butcher is facing charges after admitting to chopping off his son's hand during an argument about the teen watching pornography.

HYDERABAD, India (WTHR) - An Indian butcher is facing charges after admitting to chopping off his son's hand during an argument about the teen watching pornography.

According to the Hindustan Times, 45-year-old Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi surrendered to police and was charged with attempt to murder for the incident.

Police say the man's 18-year-old son Khalid got addicted to watching movies and pornography after buying a smartphone. Qayyum caught his son watching an adult film Sunday and tried to grab the phone, but Khalid resisted and bit his father's hand.

The son left the home, but returned late that night. In the morning, the men fought again, with Qayyum grabbing a butcher's knife and chopping his son's hand off between the wrist and elbow.

Family members who heard the altercation rushed Khalid to the hospital, but doctors said the chances of saving his hand, which was 90 percent severed are "bleak."
