OVER THE ALPS (WTHR) - If you've ever wanted to soar with the eagles, here's your chance.

Video recorded by a camera mounted on an eagle is stunningly beautiful, but also hints of dire future consequences.

The white-tailed eagle named Victor took flight with the camera between his wings, soaring over the majestic Alps. The video also shows once-magnificent glaciers now crumbling because of global warming.

The recording took place at various points along the Alps in Italy, Switzerland, France and Austria.

The Eagle Wings Foundation hopes the spectacular footage will help jolt the world out of climate change apathy and toward swifter action to combat its effects. The eagle's handler hopes that seeing the world as an eagle sees it will also convince viewers of the importance of protecting birds and their environments.
