ARLINGTON, Texas (WTHR) - A Texas boy born with half a heart is spreading the love this holiday season.

Four-year-old Elliott Wyche was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome in April 2015, four months before he was born. He had his first open-heart surgery when he was just four days old, then underwent another at six months and a third when he was three years old.

"He essentially is walking around, running around with only half of a heart," his mother Ashley told NBCDFW.

Thousands of people follow Elliott's journey on his "Tin Man Tough" Facebook page. This year, several of those people wanted to send Elliott Christmas presents. His parents said OK, but he wanted to donate the toys instead.

He donated dozens of gifts to the Arlington Police "Santa Cop" program.

To thank him for the kind gesture officers from the Arlington Police Department and a SWAT team. The officers gave him his own little police vest and let him take the team's remote-controlled robot for a spin.

"My dad is the best, my mom is the best and everyone that I know is the best," Elliott said.
