Police officer leaves $100 tip, note for pregnant waitress

The waitress's dad posted about the encounter on Facebook.

NEW JERSEY (WTHR) — A police officer left a $100 tip for a waitress after learning she was pregnant with her first child.

The waitress' dad posted about the encounter on Facebook.

Brian Cadigan said his 23-year-old daughter, Courtney English, was waiting tables at the Lamp Post Diner when a Voorhees police officer came in for lunch.

The officer's total bill was just under $9 before tip and he decided to tip her $100.

He also included a note on the receipt: "Enjoy your first. You will never forget it."

Cardigan decided to post about the heartfelt moment between his daughter and the police officer.

"What a wonderful person to not only leave a VERY generous tip, but a lovely message, I don't know you Mr Police Officer, but you made my little girl cry, and made her year. Thank you, I always had the utmost respect for Officers, but you went above and beyond not just an officer, but a beautiful human being. God Bless," Cardigan wrote in his post.

The post has been shared 3,300 times and has more than 9,000 reactions.
