WASHINGTON (WTHR) - The FDA has approved a drug to help dogs who are terrified of fireworks and gunshots.
Dogs who suffer from noise aversion become really stressed out at loud noises. They may whine, bark, howl, shake uncontrollably or worse - lose control of their bowels and chew up furniture.

The drug is called Pexion and it's given to dogs a few days before an expected noisy event like the 4th of July and continued through the episode.
It's important to watch animals carefully when they're on anti-anxiety drugs. On rare occasions, they can lead to more aggressive behaviors.
