CHARLOTTTE, NORTH CAROLINA (NBC NEWS) - Police in Charlotte, North Carolina have arrested a 26-year old man in connection with an assault at Thursday night's NFL game between the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles.
The cellphone video shows a young man arguing with an older man sitting behind him.
The young man then proceeds to punch the 62-year old man in the face repeatedly.
Blood can be seen flowing from under the man's eye.
The victim told responding officers the suspect, who was seated in front of him during the game, had been standing which led to an argument between them.
Officers attempted to locate the suspect inside the stadium but were unsuccessful.
But Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced Friday evening that they have arrested the suspect, identified as Kyle Adam Maraghy.
The Carolina Panthers released the following statement on the incident:
"We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator. We are working with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law. The Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America stadium."
