Anderson - An Indianapolis man is dead, and two others wounded, after a triple shooting at a private club in Anderson early Sunday morning. A few hours later police closed in on a suspect.
Maurice Carter is charged with one count of murder, and two counts of attempted murder.

An intense manhunt for an armed murder suspect just a few hours after a shooting took place earlier Sunday morning.

At 4:30 the gunman entered the "Brothers of the Wheel" Motorcycle Club and opened fire.

Anderson Police Detective Joel Sandefur said, "The report was multiple gunshot wound victims there."

21-year-old Antwan Bradshaw of Indianapolis was shot twice in the abdomen. He died at Community Hospital of Anderson.

The two other shooting victims survived. Bradshaw's uncle, Antonio Jefferson was shot in the groin, and Anderson City Councilman Ollie Dixon's daughter, Delisha, was shot in the lower leg.

Based on witness information, police found their suspect Maurice Carter.

"Spotted him down the street here at 14th and Dewey, gave chase to him just over here to the other block and he ran into this house here behind us," said Detective Sandefur.

Police surrounded the house, knocked on the door, and Carter answered. He was arrested and taken in for questioning.

The president of the Brothers of the Wheel told Eyewitness News the club has chapters all over the state, Carter was not a member and no one knows why he showed up.

Detective Sandefur says,"There's no indications that we know of , or that anyone is saying, that provoked this attack. That's still a mystery to us, why Maurice Carter would pull out a pistol and shoot three people."

Carter has a criminal history for both burglary and possession of drugs.

He is now in the Madison County jail awaiting formal charges in this shooting.

The shooting marked Anderson's 5th homicide of the year.

The victims of the shooting remain hospitalized Sunday evening. 39-year-old Antonio Jefferson of Indianapolis is in serious condition at Methodist hospital and Delisha Dixon was treated at Community Hospital of Anderson and is listed in good condition.
