WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTHR / NBC NEWS) — The House will vote Wednesday afternoon on a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump.
According to NBC News, this will be the first time the Democrat-controlled House will consider impeachment of the President.
The resolution could be sent to committee, tabled (killing it), or voted on to send the measure forward.
It is being pushed by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas. He cited the recent racial tweets be the President as cause for seeking impeachment. This is his third attempt trying to impeach President Trump.
The House is also expected to vote on holding U.S. Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in criminal contempt of Congress. Democrats accuse the two of withholding information about the push to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.
