FRESNO, California (KSEE) - A 1-year-old boy is dead his grandmother injured after being attacked by two dogs in a quiet California neighborhood.
Police say the boy was outside his grandparents’ home in Fresno when he was attacked Friday.
Officers say the child wandered out the front door into the front yard where he was attacked by two rottweilers.
Other children in the home alerted the boy's grandmother that he was outside, and she rushed after him.
When she saw the dogs biting the boy, she tried to get the dogs off him and was also attacked.
“It took the grandfather, who was also in the house, to get out and use a hose on these dogs to get the dog off the one-year-old," according to Fresno Police Lt. Mark Hudson.
The dogs' owner has given up both animals.
The California SPCA says the dogs will be euthanized.
