WASHINGTON (WTHR) — An iconic museum in Washington, D.C., is closing at the end of the year.
The Newseum will close Dec. 31 after welcoming nearly 10 million visitors over more than 11 years.
The announcement comes after struggling financially for a number of years.
The Newseum opened its current location in 2008 and features 15 galleries and 15 theaters to increase public understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment.
Tickets are available online for 15 percent off.
