New Jersey authorities looking for 15-year-old missing since Oct. 30

Authorities in New Jersey are searching for a 15-year-old boy they say traveled to New York on a train.

MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J. (WTHR) — Authorities in New Jersey are searching for a 15-year-old boy they say traveled to New York on a train.

Thomas Kolding lives with his family in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, but the family told NBC New York he traveled to New York's Penn Station, possibly trying to get to California.

The teen went missing Oct. 30, but he was seen taking a train to Newark the same day. He is then believed to have taken a train from Newark to New York. His location after that is unclear, but his family said he has a cousin in California, which may be why he was trying to get there.

Thomas was last seen wearing a camouflage winter coat, a skull cap and a black backpack.

He is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Police encourage anyone with information on Thomas' whereabouts to call Mountain Lakes Police at 973-334-1413.
