LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTHR) — A Kentucky girl is sending a message to lawmakers after two mass shootings last weekend: "Make USA safe again."

Dima Alsiraj is a 10-year-old from Lexington who took to YouTube days after mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas.

Dima told LEX18 the shootings inspired her to make the video.

"I was watching the news with my mom and dad, and I saw a bunch of gun violence," she said in the video. "I feel really unsafe to go to a mall, a church, a mosque, even a little festival."

She then asks for gun restrictions, saying regular citizens should not have rifles that can kill lots of people in just a few seconds.

"So please, make USA safe again," she said.

She also encouraged other kids to follow her lead and stand up for themselves by taking concerns to lawmakers.
