BUFFALO, N.Y. (WTHR) - The U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration said Friday that a company had expanded a voluntary recall of certain lots of all-purpose flour.
ADM Milling Company said the national recall involved specific lots of its unbleached flour product in 5-pound and 25-pound packaging.
The company said the step was a precautionary one after sampling led to the discovery of the "potential presence of E. coli 026."
The company said it had not received any reports of illness or injury related to the product.
While the flour was milled at the company's Buffalo, NY facility, it was distributed and sold nationwide, in retailers and in e-commerce.
The product affected by the recall involves only King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (5 lb. & 25 lb.) with the following best-used-by dates and lot codes:

Best Used By and Lot Code information can be found on the bottom of the ingredient side panel of the 5 lb. Bag. Best Used By date and Lot Code, along with their location on the bag, must all match in order to represent flour affected by this recall.
Also affected are 25-pound bags of King Arthur Flour Unbleached All-Purpose Flour sold only at Costco. Those bags have a UPC of 071012012503 and Best Used By dates of 12/04/19, 12/10/19, 12/20/19, 01/07/20 and 01/15/20.
This is an expansion of a recall announced June 13, 2019. The Lot Codes listed above join the previously voluntarily recalled Lot Codes on June 13.
